Vortex Noise Filter
An in depth look at the Vortex Noise function, examining how it can be manipulated in the Deep Texture Editor (DTE) and also using the transformation tools in the Material Lab. Vortex Noise is one of the more complex noise functions available and can be used to form anything from wood grain patterns to vast seething tornadoes in volumetric clouds. Due to the complexity of the procedural it is easy to misuse this function where other faster noise functions would suffice. For this reason the tutorial focuses on using this procedural to best effect and also with greatest efficiency.
