Shadow Capture Technique

Shadow capture is an advanced method that allows the creation of invisible surfaces on which Bryce objects can cast shadows which then overlay whatever lies behind them. This has a very particular application.HDRI are an excellent for use as light sources and also, if high enough in resolution, photographic background. Now with the addition of the Tone mapping to the IBL tab, they can appear quite natural and offer a realistic environment for rendered objects.Using shadow capture it is possible to have a Bryce rendered object seem to cast a shadow realistically into a HDRI background. The shadow itself overlaying the backdrop on an invisible surface which is visually aligned with the surface(s) shown in the backdrop. Not the easiest thing to describe, nor the easiest technique to master.
